Wreck of the Phoenix

Wreck of the Phoenix | aquasport.tv

The Phoenix Lies some 2 km of the coast of Port Neil. She was last owned by a Port Lincoln Fisherman, and was trapping Leather Jackets. She was sold to a Progressive Society for $1 and cleaned and sunk as an artificial reef around 2002. Prior to Port Lincoln Operations she was a Whiting fishing vessel in the Spencer Gulf.

The Phoenix lies in about 14m of water and she is approximately 45 foot long. A nice dive which supplements the Historic Wreck Lady Kinnaird, which is also worth diving.

I do recommend diving the Phoenix first, and then the Lady Kinnaird.

Plan the Lady Kinnaird Dive based on top or bottom of tide to minimise current rip, and fit the Phoenix in before.

A great little dive is the Phoenix.
