Kinda addicted to watching the water in slow motion. Treated myself to a Hero 3+ Black Edition last month, only really got to use it this week – but my god, watching the water in slow mo playback is unreal. I have a vid on my channel if you’re interested – it’s a river though, so don’t go expecting the awesome waves on display here 🙂

In 1995 history was made when jay moriarity (rat boy) was one of the first people to surf a maverick when the secret of mavericks was revealed to the world. He was 15 years old when he slay that big beast of a wave!!!! After that awesome event, that’s when his career started but sadly in 2002 he passed away from free diving in the Maldives. Rip jay. Live like Jay.

Mavericks is held literally down the street from where my aunt lives. She rides her bike down every year and watches the surfers. Only in California. Great video and reminds me so much of home!
