Lost Weekend: LA

Lost Weekend: LA | aquasport.tv

During a recent spate of sticky weather in Los Angeles, the sweltering heat coincided with the first decent south swell of the summer, meaning the occasional session in trunks and ramps for a handful of Southern California surfers and visitors who happened to be in the area. It was the perfect excuse to roam PCH looking for the proper place to take a dip – not that they needed one.

Of course, as the second most populous city in the country, Los Angeles saw droves of weekend warriors setting up picnics and kiddie pools on the sand from Malibu to the South Bay. But the team of travelling wave-hunters, who stuck mostly to northern L.A. county, weren’t deterred by their new “friends.” All 10,752 of them (rough estimate). And despite the scorching heat, everyone managed to keep their cool.

Because the best thing to do during a heat wave? Wave back.
